Horsewood Ingredient Guide
Each of the seven Horsewood components has its own page below, covering what it is, why it is included and how it fits the overall formula.
Every Horsewood Ingredient
Tongkat Ali
The component the seller places at the centre of the Horsewood formula, and the one whose label figure is most often misread.
Read about Tongkat Ali →Horny Goat Weed
The circulation component of the Horsewood formula, and the one that most deserves a conversation with a pharmacist first.
Read about Horny Goat Weed →Nettle Leaf
Included by the seller to help with testosterone already circulating in the body, and worth a note on which part of the plant is used.
Read about Nettle Leaf →Saw Palmetto
The prostate component of the formula, and the one carrying the single most practical safety note on this site.
Read about Saw Palmetto →Wild Yam
The recovery component of the formula, and one where a very common belief about how it works does not hold up.
Read about Wild Yam →Sarsaparilla
The endurance component of the formula, with a long traditional history and a reputation worth examining carefully.
Read about Sarsaparilla →Boron Chelate
The only mineral in the formula, with real research behind it and one transparency gap on the label.

How the Horsewood Formula Divides Up
Two capsules deliver seven components across four functional areas:
- Testosterone support — Tongkat Ali (10 mg, 100:1 extract) and boron chelate (20 mg)
- Testosterone availability — nettle leaf (20 mg)
- Circulation — horny goat weed (8 mg, 10:1 extract)
- Hormonal and prostate balance — saw palmetto (20 mg) and nettle leaf
- Recovery and endurance — wild yam (20 mg) and sarsaparilla (20 mg)
Every figure above is printed on the Supplement Facts panel. There is no proprietary blend, which is what makes an ingredient-by-ingredient guide like this possible in the first place.
Safety notes across the Horsewood formula
- Saw palmetto can affect a PSA blood test used in prostate screening.
- Horny goat weed relates to circulation — check with a doctor if you take nitrates or blood pressure medication.
- Boron has a tolerable upper intake level, and the elemental amount is not stated on this label.
- Nettle may interact with diuretics and with blood pressure and diabetes medication.
- Gelatin capsule — not suitable for vegetarians or vegans.
- Not for anyone under 18, or for pregnant or nursing mothers.
Ingredient Research Versus Horsewood Research
These pages describe research and traditional use relating to the individual ingredients. Horsewood as a finished formula has not been through its own clinical trial, and nothing here should be read as implying otherwise.
For how the components are intended to work together, see how Horsewood works. For what that means day to day, see the Horsewood benefits page.
